When we first found the Acly home we were unable to make any good exterior pictures because the foundation plantings had overgrown the house. Since then new owners have purchased the home and the appearance both inside and out has changed it dramatically.

RECENTLY A CRAFTSMAN HOME WAS BUILT FROM COPIES OF PLANS IN AVERY ARCHITECTURAL LIBRARY AT COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY. HERE THE OWNERS SHARE THE PHOTOS.

Kyle Neuheimer and his wife have built a version of No. 24 out in the country. Some small changes were made (the addition of a bathroom on the first floor is one) but they were very minimal. The floor plans were reversed from the plans published in The Craftsman. While the Acly house appears to have been built from the illustrations published in the magazine, the plans in the Avery Library that were mailed to readers show changes, including trim details and the substitution of a tile fireplace instead of a cobblestone one.
